Lipótváros & the Parliament
Grand, elegant Pest: the Parliament on the Danube, St Stephen’s Basilica, Gresham Palace and the Chain Bridge, with some of the city’s best restaurants.
About Lipótváros & the Parliament
Lipótváros, the Leopold Town, grew in the 19th century as Budapest’s centre of business and government. Its broad streets lead from the Parliament on Kossuth Square to St Stephen’s Basilica and the Art Nouveau Gresham Palace at the Chain Bridge.
It is home to several MICHELIN-starred restaurants and some of the best coffee in the city, and the Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial stands on its embankment.
