Vajdahunyad Castle

Castle·City Park

A castle of styles

About Vajdahunyad Castle

Vajdahunyad Castle was built for the millennium celebrations of 1896, first in wood and later in stone, and it combines copies of famous buildings from across historic Hungary, from Romanesque to Baroque. It houses the Museum of Agriculture, and in winter the lake in front becomes one of Europe’s most beautiful ice rinks.

Why it's on our list

  • Many architectural styles in one building
  • Home of the Hungarian Museum of Agriculture
  • Skating on the lake in winter

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Vajdahunyad Castle before you go.
