Heroes’ Square
The Millennium Monument

About Heroes’ Square
Heroes’ Square was laid out for the celebrations of 1896, a thousand years after the Hungarians arrived in the Carpathian Basin. The Millennium Monument, a tall column topped by the Archangel Gabriel, rises above statues of the chieftains and kings of Hungary. The square is flanked by the Museum of Fine Arts and the Hall of Art, at the entrance to City Park.
