About New York Café
When the New York Palace opened in 1894, its café became the meeting place of Budapest’s writers, editors and artists, and it is still one of the most breathtaking rooms in Europe: twisted gilt columns, marble, chandeliers and painted ceilings. Today it is part of the Anantara New York Palace hotel. Expect queues at busy times, come early in the morning, and order coffee and a classic Hungarian cake.
