Rudas Baths
Ottoman dome and rooftop pool

About Rudas Baths
Rudas is one of the oldest baths in Budapest, built during Ottoman rule in the 16th century. Its heart is an octagonal pool beneath a stone dome, lit by small coloured windows; above it, a modern rooftop pool looks across the Danube. Some sections have different rules on different days, so check the timetable, and try a late-night session when the city lights come on.
Why it's on our list
- An Ottoman octagonal pool from the 16th century
- A rooftop thermal pool over the Danube
- Night bathing on some evenings
Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Rudas Baths before you go.
