About Gellért Hill & the Liberty Statue

Gellért Hill rises steeply from the Danube on the Buda side, and from its top the whole city is laid out below: the bridges, the Parliament, the Castle and the river. On the summit stand the 19th-century Citadella fortress and the Liberty Statue, a woman holding a palm leaf above the city. Walk up from the Elisabeth Bridge or the Liberty Bridge, and come at sunset.
